Swimming & diving teams swept in double dual meet at Calvin
The Olivet College men’s and women’s swimming & diving team were swept in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA double dual meet this afternoon at the Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids. The Comet men fell to Calvin University, 141-81, and Kalamazoo College, 153-85. The Olivet women suffered a 166-49 loss to Calvin and 178-44 loss to Kalamazoo.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's swimming & diving team were swept in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA double dual meet this afternoon at the Venema Aquatic Center in Grand Rapids. The Comet men fell to Calvin University, 141-81, and Kalamazoo College, 153-85. The Olivet women suffered a 166-49 loss to Calvin and 178-44 loss to Kalamazoo.
- The 200-yard medley relay team of senior Zach Meharg, freshman Takato Timmerman, freshman Jacob Ritter and senior Eric Wood finished in second-place with a time of 1:38.69.
- Wood placed first in the 200-yard freestyle at 1:45.60 and second in the 100-yard freestyle at 47.59 seconds.
- Timmerman had the fastest time in the 200-yard breaststroke at 2:14.58.
- Senior Dalton Miner was second on the one-meter diving board with 234.85 points and three-meter diving board with 192.90 points.
- Sophomore Kayla Eichaker scored fourth-place points in the 200-butterfly with a time of 2:32.67.
- Freshman Sarah LaFoe tallied third-place points in the 200-yard breaststroke with a time of 2:51.15.
- Senior Amelia Tomalka swam the 1,650-yard freestyle in 20:40.92.
- The Comets make the short trip to compete against Albion College next Friday, Jan. 31. The first event starts at 6 p.m.
