Montes de Oca named to All-MIAA team for women’s swimming & diving
Olivet College freshman Ana Paula Montes de Oca has been named to the 2018 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) team for women’s swimming & diving.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College freshman Ana Paula Montes de Oca has been named to the 2018 All-Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) team for women's swimming & diving.
Montes de Oca was selected to the All-MIAA team by virtue of her first-place performances in the 500- and 1,650-yard freestyle at the 2018 MIAA Swimming & Diving Championships Feb. 21-24. She won both events in a school record time at 5:00.87 and 17:17.24, with the latter time also being an NCAA "B" cut time. Montes de Oca also set school records in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.08) as the leadoff leg of the 800 freestyle and 1,000-yard freestyle (10:29.65) to start the mile. At the conclusion of the championships, Montes de Oca time-trialed the 200-yard butterfly and broke the school record with a time of 2:06.36.
