GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College women’s soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss to Cornerstone University this afternoon in its 2022 season-opener at the CU Soccer Stadium in Grand Rapids.

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team suffered a 4-0 loss to Cornerstone University this afternoon in its 2022 season-opener at the CU Soccer Stadium in Grand Rapids.

  • The Golden Eagles led 1-0 at halftime behind a goal in the 37th minute.
  • Cornerstone stretched its lead to 2-0 in the 60th before scoring its final two goals in a span of just under two minutes.

  • Sophomore Katelyn White tallied two of the four shots in the game.
  • Sophomore Sarah Willard started in goal. She gave up the first three goals and made nine saves.
  • Sophomore Jordan Hartman finished the game in goal and allowed the final goal.

  • Shelten Cruces, Chloe Dood, Katelyn Lane and Hannah Luurtesma each scored a goal.
  • Tori Woodwyk recorded a team-best five shots.
  • Hope Steenwyk provided the clean sheet in goal. She played all 90 minutes and made two saves.

  • The Comets are back in action Sunday afternoon when they play a 2 p.m. game at Muskingum (Ohio) University.
