Women’s soccer team ends season with 2-0 loss at Hope

HOLLAND, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team closed out the 2021 season with a 2-0 loss to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) rival Hope College, 2-0, this evening at the Van Andel Soccer Stadium.

• The Comets had a solid chance to score a goal in the 20th minute. Senior Kate Mcelhone's free kick from 32 yards out was saved by the keeper.
• Hope took a 1-0 lead on a goal by Madison Holloway in the 24th minute.
• The Flying Dutch extended their lead to 2-0 when Sarah Mikesell converted a penalty kick goal in the 63rd minute.

• The shot by Mcelhone was Olivet's lone one in the contest.
• Freshman Jordan Hartman played the entire game in net and collected 10 saves off 21 Hope shots.

• The Flying Dutch were led by Mikesell who recorded nine shots, including five on-goal.
• Cassidy Broekhuizen was next with three shots.
• Isabelle Bertolone notched one save in 90 minutes of action.
