Women’s soccer team defeated by Calvin 2-0 in MIAA-opener

- The score was 0-0 at halftime despite the Knights out-shooting the Comets, 26-2.
- Calvin dented the scoreboard for the first time in the 54th minute.
- Olivet's best scoring chance came in the 74th minute. Senior Kiley Schneck took a free kick. The ball bounced inside the 6-yard box. The keeper then punched the ball over the crossbar.
- The Knights added an insurance goal in the 83rd minute.
- Sophomore Ella Jeske recorded a pair of shots-on-goal in the final three minutes of the game.
- Olivet was limited to five total shots, including four for Jeske.
- Freshman Jordan Hartman played all 90 minutes in goal and collected 14 saves.
- The Knights tallied 42 total shots.
- Sophie Mueller netted both Calvin goals to go along with a match-best nine shots.
- Jessica Paulson and Kaitlyn Van Laare had six shots a piece.
- Talia List and Elizabeth Williams came off the bench to tally five shots each.
- Sarah Hoekwater was the winning keeper.
- Olivet hosts Trine (Ind.) University Saturday afternoon at 12 p.m. The game is being played at the Olivet High School turf field.
