OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College women's soccer team dropped a 4-3 decision to Alma College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) game today at the Cutler Athletic Complex.

- The Scots led 2-0 after scoring goals in the third and 11th minute.
- The Comets got on the scoreboard for the first time in 20th minute. An Olivet player was fouled inside the box. Senior Chelsie Smith sent the penalty kick shot into the back of the net for a goal.
- Olivet leveled the score at the 25:59 mark when junior Kate Mcelhone beat a defender and sent her shot into the goal.
- Alma scored the go-ahead goal less than a minute later off a free kick.
- The score stayed 3-2 at halftime.
- The fourth goal for the Scots was an own goal after a Comet defender knocked the ball into the net.
- Olivet closed the gap to 4-3 when junior Lauren Maybee headed the ball into the goal in the 66th minute. Junior Kiley Schneck was credited with the assist.
- The Comets' last chance to score was another header by Maybee which sailed wide of the goal.
- For the game, Olivet tallied 10 shots, including eight on-frame.
- Mcelhone recorded four shots, with three on-frame.
- Junior Mekenzie Lamb played the entire game in goal and had five saves.
- The Scots finished the game with 16 total shots.
- Abigail Dawes, Makenzie Rajewski and Lily Stephan scored the goals.
- Stephan registered a team-best four shots.
- Dawes took three shots.
- Ally Wentworth was the winning keeper, as she played all 90 minutes and collected five saves.
- Olivet continues conference play next Tuesday, April 6, when it plays a 7 p.m. game at Kalamazoo College.
