Women's soccer team loses heartbreaker to Hope, 1-0
The Olivet College women's soccer team lost a heartbreaker to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Hope College, 1-0, this afternoon in Olivet. The Flying Dutch (8-3-2, 7-1-2 MIAA) scored their goal with 3:44 left in the game.

The Olivet College women's soccer team lost a heartbreaker to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Hope College, 1-0, this afternoon in Olivet. The Flying Dutch (8-3-2, 7-1-2 MIAA) scored their goal with 3:44 left in the game.
For the game, the Lady Comets (5-7-0, 3-5-0 MIAA) were outshot by Hope, 25-9, including a 13-5 edge in shots on goal. Sophomore forward Stacey Stickney (St. Joseph High School) was credited with four shots, two on goal, for Olivet. Freshman Natalie Lopez (Holland/West Ottawa High School) also had two shots on goal. Junior goalkeeper Gretchen Ford (Harbor Springs High School) made 12 saves.
Olivet is next in action Saturday, Oct. 16 when it travels to play Calvin College at noon.
