Women's soccer team opens season with a 5-0 win at Concordia (Ill.)
The Olivet College women's soccer team opened the 2004 season with a bang as the Lady Comets defeated Concordia (Ill.) University, 5-0, in River Forest, Illinois. Sophomore Stacey Stickney (St. Joseph High School) and freshman Lindsay Bialas (Vicksburg) scored two goals apiece.

Olivet led 1-0 at halftime on Stickney's first goal in the sixth minute. The goal was assisted by sophomores Kelli McKee (Canton High School) and Heather Wolf (Marshall).
In the second half, Stickney had her second goal in the 50th minute off a pass from Bialas. Freshman Shannah Fisher (Delton Kellogg High School) found the back of the net in the 65th minute and Wolf was credited with the assist.
Bialas closed the scoring with back-to-back goals in a span of five minutes, 17 seconds. Freshman Natalie Lopez (Holland West Ottawa High School) assisted on Bialas' first goal and junior Justina Cholak (Rochester/Warren Fitzgerald High School) assisted the second goal.
Stickney led the offense with 10 of the 20 Comet shots. In goal, sophomore Dani Jacobs (Suttons Bay High School) played the entire game, facing seven shots and making one save.
Olivet will next play at Dominican (Ill.) University on Sunday, Sept. 5, at 3:30 p.m.
