Wrestling: Comets finish in 27th-place at Pete Willson Invitational
The Olivet College wrestling team finished in 27th-place at the 2015 Pete Willson-Wheaton Invitational inside King Arena in Wheaton, Illinois. The Comets totaled only 13.5 points and all 10 wrestlers have been eliminated from the tournament.

The Comets totaled only 13.5 points and all 10 wrestlers have been eliminated from the tournament. University of Wis.-Whitewater is in first-place with 104.5 points.
Seeded sixth in the 149-pound bracket, senior Kyle Witgen lost his first-round match, 3-1, to Damon Cheek from Heidelberg (Ohio) University. He won two minor decisions in the consolation bracket, 7-0 over Pat Parham from Wabash (Ind.) College and 3-1 over Michael Sepke from University of Chicago (Ill.). Witgen suffered a 4-2 loss to Blake Santi from Elmhurst to be bounced from the tournament.
Unseeded in the 184-pound bracket, sophomore Rodney Harvey lost his first-round match before coming back with three straight wins in the consolation bracket. He won the first two matches with pins in the first period and then slipped past Bobby Schillinger from Elmhurst, 8-6, in the next round. Harvey fell to eighth-seed Ben Lebrun from Baldwin Wallace (Ohio) University, 7-3, to be eliminated from the tournament.
Junior Anthony Long bowed out of the tournament with a 2-2 record in the 157-pound bracket. After losing his first-round match, he won twice (3-1 and 7-5). Long was then pinned in the third round of the consolation bracket.
Olivet's other seven wrestlers were had either a 1-2 or 0-2 record.
The Comets will return to action next Saturday, Feb. 14, at the University of Indianapolis (Ind.) Open.
