Second round of MIAA Women’s Golf Fall Finale cancelled; Deweyert earns All-MIAA honors

BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – With the course deemed unplayable due to adverse weather conditions at Bedford Valley Country Club, the second round of the 2018 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Women's Golf Fall Finale scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 6 has been cancelled. A make-up date will not be set.
Results from the five rounds played earlier in the fall, including Friday's tournament first round, have been utilized to establish All-MIAA awards for individuals and MIAA team champion.
The Comets finish in sixth-place in the final league standings with 1,761 total strokes. Saint Mary's (Ind.) College won the team title at 1,553 strokes.
- Junior Nicole Deweyert has earned All-MIAA Second Team honors. She posted an 81.0 stroke average, the seventh-best mark, over the five MIAA rounds. Deweyert is now a three-time All-MIAA selection after being a first-team pick in 2017 and second-team pick in 2016.
