NORMAL, Ill. – The Olivet College women's golf team is tied for sixth-place after the first day of the Illinois Wesleyan University Fall Classic at the Ironwood Golf Course in Normal, Illinois.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets had three golfers shoot a score in the 70s to post a 318 team score. Rose-Hulman (Ind.) Institute of Technology also carded a 318 team score.
- University of Wis.-Oshkosh and University of Wis.-Whitewater share the first-round lead with 304s.
- Washington University-St. Louis (Mo.) is a stroke behind in third-place at 305, followed by DePauw (Ind.) University at 306 and Grinnell (Iowa) College at 314.
- Vidushi Sinha from Grinnell tops the player leaderboard with a 71.
FOR THE COMETS
- Sophomore Nicole Deweyert completed her round in 77 strokes.
- Freshman Crystal Lettinga shot a career-best 78.
- Sophomore Ashley Folleth was a stroke behind with a 79.
- Junior Hayley Cooper carded an 84.
- Sophomore Taylor Elley finished her round in 89 strokes.
