ANGOLA, Ind. – Sophomore Nicole Deweyert earned medalist honors to lead the Olivet College women's golf team to a first-place at the season-opening Trine University Kick-Off Classic at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.

Par / Yardage: 72 / 5,963 yards
- The Comets posted a 333 team score to top the seven-team field.
- Capital (Ohio) University was a distant second with a 357, followed by Albion College in third at 359 and Cleary University in fourth at 363. The host Thunder were fifth at 364, with Lourdes (Ohio) University in sixth at 387 and Defiance (Ohio) College in seventh at 435.
- Deweyert was the only golfer to post a score in the 70s, as she returned the clubhouse with a career-best 76.
- Sophomore Ashley Folleth tied for second-place with an 83.
- Sophomore Taylor Elley shared fifth-place with an 85.
- Junior Hayley Cooper was part of a four-way tie for ninth-place with an 89.
- Freshman Crystal Lettinga carded a 98 in her first round of collegiate golf.
- Olivet hosts the Labor Day Classic next Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 2-3, at The Medalist Golf Club in Marshall.
