GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College women's basketball team fell to Calvin College, 83-43, in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) contest tonight at Van Noord Arena in Grand Rapids.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Knights scored the first 10 points in the game and never looked back. Calvin led 23-8 at the end of the first quarter. The Knights stretched their lead to 45-19 at halftime. Calvin outscored the Comets, 25-7 in third quarter to take a 70-26 lead into the final quarter. Olivet outscored the Knights, 17-13, in the fourth quarter.
FOR THE COMETS
- Junior Shawnee Dame led Olivet with 12 points and nine rebounds.
- Senior Kadesha Taylor came off the bench to score eight points.
FOR THE KNIGHTS
- Ali Spayde finished with a game-high 21 points.
- Kara Minderhoud scored 17 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
- Bre Luurtsema netted 15 points, including 9-of-13 shooting from the free throw line, and dished out five assists.
- Nicole Meyer grabbed a game-high 10 rebounds.
UP NEXT
- Olivet ends the 2017-18 season Saturday when it hosts MIAA co-leader Hope College at 3 p.m. Prior to the game, the Comets will take time to honor their three seniors who will be playing in their final collegiate basketball game.
