Blouin named to NFCA All-Central Region First Team
The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association batting average (.441) and slugging percentage (.793) leader, Olivet College senior shortstop Kinslea Blouin has added one accolade to her list of honors for 2019. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has named her to the 2019 All-Central Region First Team.
LOUISVILLE, Ky. – The Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association batting average (.441) and slugging percentage (.793) leader, Olivet College senior shortstop Kinslea Blouin has added one accolade to her list of honors for 2019. The National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) has named her to the 2019 All-Central Region First Team. Blouin is eligible for selection to the NFCA All-America team, which will be announced May 22 at the NCAA Division III Championship banquet in Tyler, Texas.
Blouin, a two-time All-MIAA selection, finished the year with 49 hits in 111 at-bats, giving her the third-best batting average in Olivet history for a season. Blouin's slugging percentage, .511 on-base percentage, 39 runs scored and eight home runs are second-best. She reached base safely in 33 of 36 games played this season, and notched multiple hits in 13 games, including five with three. Blouin produced a 15-game hit streak, which tied the school record. Defensively, she broke the single-season record with 113 fielding assists.
In two seasons at Olivet, Blouin is all-time leader in home runs (15) and slugging percentage (.484). She also ranks among the top 10 all-time in batting average (second, .434), on-base percentage (second, .484), stolen bases (seventh, 23) and fielding assists (fourth, 200).
Blouin is the seventh player in Olivet's history to earn NFCA All-Region honors, and only the second shortstop, joining Jenn Newland (2005). She is the first player since Anna Braner in 2009 to be a first-team selection.
