Softball team loses to Anderson and Mass.-Boston to open Florida trip
The Olivet College softball team suffered loss to Anderson (Ind.) University, 4-1, and University of Mass.-Boston, 5-2, to open its spring break trip to The Spring Games and at Hancock Park in Clermont, Florida.

CLERMONT, Fla. – The Olivet College softball team suffered loss to Anderson (Ind.) University, 4-1, and University of Mass.-Boston, 5-2, to open its spring break trip to The Spring Games and at Hancock Park in Clermont, Florida.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Ravens scored all of their runs in the first inning.
- The Comets pushed across their lone run in the fourth inning. Sophomore Dominique McKillop singled. Senior Carrie Chamberlain walked to move McKillop to second. Sophomore Kristen Gressley came into the game to run for Chamberlain. Sophomore Nikole Kern advanced both runners with a sacrifice bunt, and freshman Payton Watson reached on an error to score Gressley.
FOR THE COMETS
- For the game, Olivet was held to three hits.
- Freshman Courtney Willson was 2-for-4, including a double.
- Chamberlain suffered the hard-luck pitching loss. She allowed the four runs (one earned) and struck out four.
FOR THE RAVENS
- Anderson collected four hits, all by a different player.
- The biggest hit was a two-run single by Megan Wade.
- Rachel Fiscus was the winning pitcher, and Ashley Cleverly earned the save.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Beacons used an infield single to score a pair of runs in the third inning.
- Mass.-Boston increased its lead to 5-0 with two unearned runs in the fifth and another unearned run in the seventh.
- The Comets scored their two runs in the bottom half of the seventh on a two-run double by senior Taylor Smith.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet collected nine hits in defeat.
- Chamberlain, McKillop and Watson each had two hits.
- McKillop reached base safely in all three of her plate appearances, as she also walked to go along with her two singles.
- Freshman Gracie Boyle was the losing pitcher. She yielded five runs (two earned) on nine hits, with seven strikeouts.
FOR THE BEACONS
- Mass.-Boston also had nine hits.
- Gigi Braga was 3-for-4 with two RBI.
- Ari Billota finished with two hits and two RBI.
- Jess Greenspan earning the pitching win.
