Cross country teams host season-opening meet
The Olivet College men’s and women’s cross country teams kick-off their seasons by hosting the 2019 Comet Open at the Broadway Acres Golf Course in nearby Charlotte. The meet was unscored and featured the Comets along with Adrian College, Albion College, Spring Arbor University, Jackson College, Kellogg Community College and Lansing Community College.

CHARLOTTE, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's cross country teams kick-off their seasons by hosting the 2019 Comet Open at the Broadway Acres Golf Course in nearby Charlotte. The meet was unscored and featured the Comets along with Adrian College, Albion College, Spring Arbor University, Jackson College, Kellogg Community College and Lansing Community College.
Location: Broadway Acres Golf Course; Charlotte, Mich.
- Freshman Savannah Baker was the top finisher for the Comets, as she completed the 5K course in 22:21 to finish ninth of 34 runners.
- Sophomore Kaylee Richardson was next at 22:29, followed by junior Morgan Greenman at 22:31.
- Junior Kyle Markley ran the 5K race in 16:35 to finish 10th of 76 runners.
- Freshman Chase Mendham was next Olivet runner to cross the finish line in 16:47 to place 15th.
- Sophomore Kyle McDowell and junior Jaden Costa had times of 17:15 and 17:21, respectively
- Olivet returns to action Saturday, Sept. 7, when it competes at the Calvin Knight Invite inside the Gainey Athletic Complex in Grand Rapids.
