Bio

Former NCAA All-American Andrew Benkovsky is in his eighth season as an assistant coach for The University of Olivet cross country/track & field programs in 2023-24.

A 2015 Olivet graduate, Benkovsky was a member of the Comet cross country and track & field teams for four seasons. As a freshman and sophomore, he was a member of the swimming & diving team. Benkovsky had his most success on the track. As a senior, he placed second in the 3,000-meter steeplechase at the 2015 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association Field Day.

Shattering the school record with a time of 9:05.36 in the steeplechase at a last chance meet, Benkovsky qualified for the NCAA Division III National Outdoor Track & Field Championships in Canton, N.Y. In the finals at the national championships, he broke the school record one more time at 9:04.94 to place seventh and earn NCAA Division III All-American honors.

A native of Eaton Rapids, Benkovsky also excelled in the classroom during his time at Olivet. He graduated with a 3.6 grade point average and was a four-time member of the MIAA Academic Honor Roll. As a senior, Benkovsky was named to the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Academic Individual Team.

Benkovsky and his wife, Tina, live in Nashville, with their daughter, Remington, and son, Stetson. Tina is an Olivet alumna who played volleyball for the Comets.
