Women’s track & field team, three student-athletes earn USTFCCCA academic awards
The Olivet College women’s track and field team along with three student-athletes, Lillian Albaugh, Noah Bailey and Tyler Peck, have earned academic awards from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in 2018-19.
NEW ORLEANS, La. – The Olivet College women's track and field team along with three student-athletes, Lillian Albaugh, Noah Bailey and Tyler Peck, have earned academic awards from the United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) in 2018-19.
Under the guidance of Head Coach Karen Lutzke, the Comet women posted a 3.44 grade point average (GPA) to earn USTFCCCA All-Academic honors. The criteria for this award is a 3.30 or higher cumulative team GPA for the entire academic year.
Albaugh, Bailey and Peck have received the USTFCCCA All-Academic Individual award. The criteria for selection is 3.30 or higher cumulative GPA and met one of the following academic standards, 1) competed at 2019 NCAA Indoor and/or Outdoor Championships or 2) finished the regular season ranked in the top 35 nationally in an individual event or top 25 nationally in a relay event.
A sports recreation management major, Albaugh competed at the NCAA Indoor and Outdoor championships in the shot put. She is also the school indoor and outdoor record holder in the event.
A computer science major, Bailey participated in the long jump at the NCAA Indoor Championships. He holds the school indoor and outdoor records in the long and triple jump. Bailey was ranked 25th in the long jump and 35th in the triple jump. He is being honored with this award for a second stra
An insurance and risk management major, Peck landed on the list as a part of the 20th-ranked 4x400-meter relay during the outdoor season. Bailey was also a member of the relay, which broke the school record with a time of 3:15.06. The duo also set the school indoor record in the 4x4 relay.
