Seven track & field athletes named to USTFCCCA All-Region teams
Seven Olivet College track and field athletes have been named to the 2019 U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region teams. Top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors. In addition, each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team.
NEW ORLEANS, La. – Seven Olivet College track and field athletes have been named to the 2019 U.S. Track & Field/Cross Country Coaches Association All-Great Lakes Region teams. Top five individuals in each event from each region earned All-Region honors. In addition, each of the members of a top-three ranked relay team.
Representing the Olivet women's track & field team are freshman Lillian Albaugh in the shot put and sophomore Ariel Floyd in the discus throw. Albaugh's 44 foot, 4-3/4 inch mark in the shot is No. 2 in the region, and Floyd's 135 feet, 2 inch performance in the discus is No. 5.
Representing the Comet men are junior Noah Bailey in the long jump and sophomore Jacob Smith in the shot put. Bailey's season-best mark of 23 feet, 5-1/4 inches in the long jump is No. 3 in the region, and Smith's 51 feet, 8-1/4 inch heave in the shot put is No. 5.
The 4x400-meter relay quartet of Bailey, freshman Kyle McDowell, sophomore Tyler Peck and senior Chris Womack posted the second-fastest time in the region at 3:15.06.
In addition, all of the aforementioned marks/times are also Olivet College outdoor track & field records.
