Men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams finish in sixth-place at MIAA Championships
The Olivet College men’s and women’s indoor track & field teams won four individual events and one relay to finish in sixth-place at the 2019 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships, hosted by Calvin College and at the Alksnis Athletics & Recreation Building in Grand Rapids.

Comets win four individual and one relay title
GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College men's and women's indoor track & field teams won four individual events and one relay to finish in sixth-place at the 2019 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Championships, hosted by Calvin College and at the Alksnis Athletics & Recreation Building in Grand Rapids.
- Junior Noah Bailey won the MIAA title in the triple jump with a 46 feet, 6 inch leap. He also finished in third-place in the long jump with a school-record mark of 22 feet, 7 inches.
- Sophomore Jacob Smith captured the MIAA title in the shot put with a school- and MIAA-record toss of 52 feet.
- The 4x400-meter relay team of Bailey, freshman Kyle McDowell, sophomore Tyler Peck and senior Chris Womack won the MIAA title in a school-record time of 3:26.00.
- McDowell was the runner-up in the 400-meter dash with a school-record time of 50.70 seconds.
- The distance medley quartet of freshmen Kyle Markley and Brandon Bell, Peck and sophomore Jaden Costa placed seventh with a time of 11:40.06.

- Freshman Lillian Albaugh won the MIAA title in the shot put with a 43 feet, 11-1/4 inch toss. The mark also tied the MIAA record.
- Senior Michaela Kaliniak defended her MIAA indoor title in the pole vault, clearing the bar at 10 feet, 8 inches.
- Sophomore Ariel Floyd placed second in the weight throw with a toss of 48 feet, 6 inches. Albaugh was eighth in the weight throw (41 feet, 11-1/2 inches).
- The distance medley team of freshmen Laura Tuttle and Morgan Greenman, sophomore Samantha Torres and senior Jessica Taylor crossed the finish line in fifth-place with a time of 14:52.23.
- The 4x400-meter relay quartet of Torres, Tuttle, Taylor and Greenman clocked-in at 4:37.98 to score seventh-place points.
