Men’s soccer team bows out of MIAA Tournament with 6-1 loss at Trine

ANGOLA, Ind. – The Olivet College men's soccer team fell to Trine (Ind.) University, 6-1, in a first-round game of the 2022 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Tournament today at Shive Field.

- Records: Olivet 4-9-4 overall, Trine 9-6-3 overall
- The Thunder led 2-0 behind goals by Joey Donovan and Tyler Murphy in the third and 26th minutes.
- The Comets got on the scoreboard in the 35th minute when sophomore Carter Scheel found the back of the net. Senior Kjeil Dickinson earned an assist on the goal.
- The score stayed at 2-1 at halftime.
- Trine netted three goals in a span of 96 seconds to go up 5-1. All three goals were scored by Tyler Murphy.
- The Thunder capped the scoring in the 86th minute after both teams emptied their bench.
- Olivet tallied seven shots, one each for seven different players.
- Four of the shots were on-frame.
- Junior Carlos Santos was tagged with the loss in goal. He gave up the first four goals and had four saves in 82 minutes and 44 seconds of action.
