ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College men’s soccer team opened Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 3-2 win over Alma College this afternoon at Bahlke Field.

ALMA, Mich. – The Olivet College men's soccer team opened Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) play with a 3-2 win over Alma College this afternoon at Bahlke Field.

- The Comets took a 1-0 lead when senior Dean Failer scored in the 25th minute. Freshman David James earned the assist on the goal.
- The Scots tied the game in the 33rd minute.
- Olivet answered with a goal just over two minutes later when sophomore Kjeil Dickinson rocketed a shot past the keeper after receiving a pass from Failer.
- The score stayed 2-1 at halftime.
- Alma leveled the score 90 seconds into the second half.
- The Comets seized a 3-2 lead when sophomore Noah Runnals found the back of the net in the 55th minute.
- Olivet finished the game with eight shots, placing six on-goal.
- Runnals and senior Joshua Rosendale each had two shots.
- Junior Andrew Aragon was in goal for all 90 minutes and made five saves.
- The Scots recorded 13 shots, including seven on-goal.
- Chase Karagitz scored both goals.
- Jack Lockerbie topped the team with four shots.
- Jose Vicario was the losing goalkeeper. He played 90 minutes and collected three saves.
- Runnals' goal was the first of his Olivet career.
- The last time Olivet started its season with a 2-0 record was the 2000 season.
