OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's soccer team tied Trine (Ind.) University, 2-2, in double overtime this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Thunder led 1-0 at halftime behind a goal by Ben Moricz in the 30th minute.
- The Comets leveled the score at 1-1 with a goal from 19 yards out by sophomore Courtney Skerritt in just the second minute of the second half. Freshman Dustin Lutz earned an assist on the goal.
- Olivet took a 2-1 lead when junior David Magallon beat the keeper on a penalty kick. The kick happened due to a handball by a Trine player in the box.
- The Thunder answered five-and-one-half minutes later to tie the game at 2-2.
- Both teams had chances to win the game in regulation but shots were saved by the keepers.
- In the first overtime period, freshman Joshua Rosendale had his shot clang off the near post for the Comets' best scoring opportunity.
- In the second overtime period, a Trine player's shot just sailed wide right of an open net.

- Olivet recorded 16 total shots, placing half on-frame.
- Rosendale took a team-best five shots.
- Junior Alistair Law was next with four shots.
- Freshman Justin Lavin played the entire game in goal and collected six saves.
FOR THE THUNDER
- Trine finished the game with 22 shots, placing nine on-goal.
- Moricz had three points on a goal and an assist.
- Mason Pelphrey and Kurt Wysocki each tallied five shots.
- Quinn O'Brien was the keeper for all 110 minutes.
OVERTIME FACTS
- Olivet's last three games have gone extra time, including settling for back-to-back double overtime draws for the first time in school history.
- The 1978 season was the last time the Comets played three straight overtime contests.
- Olivet is now 21-21-20 all-time in overtime games.
