Lockwood named MIAA Offensive Player of the Week

Olivet College senior forward Graham Lockwood (Haslett/Williamston) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Offensive Player of the Week for men's soccer. He is being honored for the second time this season.
Lockwood scored two goals and helped the Comets get back to the .500 mark in MIAA play with two wins last week. He scored a late goal to seal Olivet's 2-0 victory over Kalamazoo College Oct. 14. Lockwood tallied the game-winning goal in the Comets' 2-1 win over Trine (Ind.) University Oct. 18. He is second in the league scoring race with nine points (four goals and one assist).
For the season, Lockwood is second on the team in goals (eight), points (18) and shots-on-goal (21). He is tied for the team lead with 38 total shots.
Lockwood and the Comets (6-7-1, 4-4 MIAA) are back in action Wednesday when they travel to play Hope College. Game time from Buys Athletic Field in Holland is 4 p.m.
