Men’s soccer team ends season with 1-0 win at Kalamazoo
The Olivet College men’s soccer team concluded the 2008 season with a 1-0 win at Kalamazoo College today at Mackenzie Field in Kalamazoo. With the win, Olivet had a 10-9-1 overall record and tied Albion College for third-place in the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) standings with an 8-6 record.

The Comets' 10 overall wins are the most in school history since the 2000 season when they also posted 10 wins. The eight MIAA wins ties the school record when Olivet had eight in 1998. In addition, the Comets end the season by winning seven of their last nine games, including five by shutout.
Today's game was scoreless after the first 45 minutes of play. Olivet got on the scoreboard just 2:11 into the second half on a goal by freshman Phillip Glaub (Okemos), with senior Graham Lockwood (Haslett/Williamston) receiving credit for an assist. It was the third goal for Glaub this week.
The Comets finished the game with 12 shots: four for Lockwood, three for senior Andrew Evans (Eastport/Petoskey), three for sophomore Mike May (Mason) and two for Glaub. Sophomore keeper Ethan Felsing (Mason) played all 90 minutes and made two saves, while facing nine shots, in recording his fourth shutout of the season.
May led the Olivet in scoring in 2008 with 25 points (10 goals and five assists). Lockwood was second with 21 points (nine goals and three assists). Felsing had 95 saves and recorded a 1.40 goals against average.
