Men's soccer team suffers 2-0 loss at Hope

The Olivet College men's soccer team fell to Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) leader Hope College, 2-0, today at Buys Athletic Field in Holland.
The Flying Dutchmen (11-4, 9-1 MIAA) scored their first goal in the 27th minute. They added another goal with 5:13 left before halftime. At the break, Hope led 2-0. Neither team scored in the second half.
The Dutchmen outshot the Comets (4-11, 4-6 MIAA), 22-5. Sophomores Kevin Hagan (East Lansing) and Brian Knechtges (Williamston) each had two shots for Olivet. In goal, junior Michael Manning (Charlotte) made 11 saves.
The Comets will play their final four games of the regular season at home, beginning next Tuesday, Oct. 24, against Kalamazoo College at 4 p.m.
