Men's soccer team defeats Adrian, 4-3
The Olivet College men’s soccer team jumped out to a 4-0 lead and hung on for a 4-3 victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe Adrian College this afternoon in Adrian.

The Olivet College men's soccer team jumped out to a 4-0 lead and hung on for a 4-3 victory over Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association foe Adrian College this afternoon in Adrian.
The Fighting Comets (3-10-4, 1-9-1 MIAA) opened the game with three goals in the first 6:40. Senior Jason Shinabarger (Grand Blanc High School) scored first at the 1:40 mark off a pass from freshman Andy Lansang (Rock Springs, Wyoming). Freshman Alan Holdorf (Novi High School) tallied the second goal at the 5:22 mark with junior Gabe Pringle (Grand Blanc High School) receiving credit for an assist. The early scoring ended when Shinabarger assisted on a goal by Pringle. The score remained 3-0 at halftime.
In the second half, Olivet stretched its lead to 4-0 on a penalty kick goal by Holdorf in the 66th minute. The Bulldogs (4-11-2, 2-9-0 MIAA) battled back with goals in the 70th, 72nd and 78th minute.
For the game, Adrian outshot the Comets, 30-10, including a 21-9 edge in the second half. Pringle led the team with four shots. In goal, freshman Michael Manning (Charlotte High School) played the entire game and made 15 saves.
Olivet is next in action Saturday, Oct. 30 when it hosts nationally-ranked Calvin College at 1:30 p.m.
