The Olivet College men's soccer team was shutout by Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) foe Kalamazoo College, 3-0, this afternoon in Olivet.
The Hornets (7-7, 5-4 MIAA) scored their first goal at the 17:04 mark. In the 24th minute, Kalamazoo stretched its lead to 2-0 on a penalty kick goal. The Hornets closed the scoring 7:31 left in the first half.
The Fighting Comets (2-9-4, 0-8-1 MIAA) had 11 shots in the game, including three by sophomore Trent Bronsink (Byron Center/South Christian High School). Junior Gabe Pringle (Grand Blanc High School) and freshman Alan Holdorf (Novi High School) had two shots apiece. In goal, junior Will Drogt (Kewadin/Elk Rapids High School) saw action in the first half, facing 12 shots and making four saves. Freshman goalie Michael Manning (Charlotte High School) played the second half and made seven saves.
Olivet will travel to play Adrian College Tuesday, Oct. 26, at 4 p.m.
