The Olivet College men's soccer team opened its 2004 Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) schedule today with a 1-0 loss against Alma College in Olivet.
After a scoreless first half, Alma (1-6-0, 1-0-0 MIAA) scored its goal at the 66:42 mark. The Scots outshot Olivet, 21-13, including 11-3 in the second half.
Senior Jason Shinabarger (Grand Blanc High School) and freshman Alan Holdorf (Novi High School) had three shots apiece for the Fighting Comets (2-2-3, 0-1-0 MIAA). In goal, junior Will Drogt (Kewadin/Elk Rapids High School) made nine saves.
Olivet will next play Saturday, Sept. 25, when it travels to Hope College for a 1:30 p.m. contest.
