COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Olivet College men's lacrosse team could not overcome a 15-4 halftime deficit in a 21-10 loss to Capital (Ohio) University today in its season-opener at Bernlohr Stadium in Columbus, Ohio.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Crusaders scored the first three goals of the game in a 46-second span.
- Olivet got on the scoreboard for the first time when sophomore Zach Sanders netted goal with 5:16 left in the opening quarter.
- Capital answered with three straight goals to go up 6-1.
- Senior Tyler Polendo scored the last goal of the first quarter and the first goal of the second quarter to make the score 6-3.
- The Crusaders had four straight goals before a man-up goal by senior Nino Minaudo made the score 10-4.
- Capital ended the quarter by scoring unanswered goals to take a 14-4 halftime lead.
- In the third quarter, both teams scored four goals, with four different Comets – Sanders, Polendo, junior Logan Krieger and senior Shane Prunty – finding the back of the cage.
- The fourth quarter was similar to the third, as both teams had two goals. Scoring goals for Olivet were Polendo and freshman Trevor Bailey.
FOR THE COMETS
- Polendo led Olivet with five points, four goals and one assist, and 11 shots.
- Sanders scored two goals.
- Senior Charlie Haesler scooped-up a team-leading eight ground balls.
- Freshman Robert Kehring and senior Drew Radners split time in goal. Kehring played the first half, and had four saves while facing 30 shots. Radners played the second half, and collected seven saves on 20 shots.
FOR THE CRUSADERS
- Ten different players scored a goal, led by five each by Brennan O'Callaghan and C.J. Hughes. They also had two assists apiece for seven points.
- Ryan Rampi finished with four points, three goals and one assist.
- Tyler Faig won 20 face-offs and recorded 10 ground balls.
- Three keepers combined to earn the win, as they faced 50 shots and made 22 saves.
