Men’s lacrosse team rallies but comes up just short to Hope, 14-12
A valiant comeback fell just short for the Olivet College men’s lacrosse team, as Hope College hung on to beat the Comets, 14-12, tonight under the lights at Lowell High School.
LOWELL, Mich. – A valiant comeback fell just short for the Olivet College men's lacrosse team, as Hope College hung on to beat the Comets, 14-12, tonight under the lights at Lowell High School.
Olivet was down 13-6 entering the final quarter of play. The Comets went on to out-score the Flying Dutchmen, 6-1, in the final 15 minutes of play. Olivet had possession of the ball for most of the final two minutes of the game, but failed to get another shot into the net.
For the game, Olivet out-shot Hope, 56-41. The Flying Dutchmen did a better job at placing their shots-on-goal with a 29-22 advantage.
Cameron Bazin scored a team-high seven points (six goals and one assist) to lead the Comets. Dakota Badder finished with four points (three goals and one assist). James Collins scored twice, while Matt Arb and Jack Ranson each had a goal. Ranson also topped the team with two assists. Ryan McGee collected 15 saves, while playing all 60 minutes in goal.
Olivet is back in action next Tuesday, April 16, when it travels to play Adrian College at 7 p.m.
