Men’s lacrosse team beats MSOE, 23-4
The Olivet College men’s lacrosse team nearly matched its season-high in goals by halftime en route to a 23-4 blowout win over Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wis.) tonight under the lights at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's lacrosse team nearly matched its season-high in goals by halftime en route to a 23-4 blowout win over Milwaukee School of Engineering (Wis.) tonight under the lights at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet.
The Comets led the Engineers, 15-1, at halftime behind four goals from freshman James Collins (Lowell), four from freshman Dakota Badder (Troy/Athens) and two each from freshmen Matt Arb (Troy/Athens), Cameron Bazin (Troy/Athens) and Joseph Brown (Bay City/Central). Arb also had three assists, while Badder recorded one.
In the third quarter, Arb and freshman Jordan Stover (Clarkston) scored one goal apiece. Olivet capped its scoring with three goals by Badder, two by Collins and one by Bazin in the fourth quarter.
For the game, Badder and Collins each had seven goals on 11 and 12 shots, respectively. Badder also had an assist for a team-leading eight points. Arb and Bazin finished with three goals apiece. Arb tallied a team-high five assists.
In the cage, sophomore Ryan McGee (Traverse City/Central) faced 21 shots and made seven saves.
The Comets will now play three games in Vermont, beginning Sunday afternoon against Johnson State College at 1 p.m. The game will be played at Saint Michael's College in Colchester.
