Men’s lacrosse team loses to Oberlin, 22-11, in first-ever game
The Olivet College men’s lacrosse team fell to Oberlin (Ohio) College, 22-11, this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. It was the first-ever game in school history for the Comets.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's lacrosse team fell to Oberlin (Ohio) College, 22-11, this afternoon at the Cutler Athletic Complex in Olivet. It was the first-ever game in school history for the Comets.
The Yeomen opened the scoring 1 minute and 41 seconds into the game on a man-up goal. Freshman Cameron Bazin (Troy/Athens) scored the first-ever Olivet goal 28 seconds later. Oberlin answered with nine straight goals to take a 10-1 lead. The Comets did not get any closer for the rest of the game.
For the game, Bazin had seven points on four goals and three assists. Freshman Matt Arb (Troy/Athens) provided three goals, while freshmen Joseph Brown (Bay City/Central) and James Collins (Lowell) each had two goals. Freshman Dakota Badder (Troy/Athens) finished with two assists.
Olivet won 18-of-37 face-offs during the game, with freshman Jordan Stover (Clarkston) winning 13-of-25, and freshman Sheldon Berry (Traverse City/Central) winning the other five. In the cage, sophomore Ryan McGee (Traverse City/Central) faced 41 shots and made 16 saves.
The Comets return to action next Saturday, March 2, when they travel to play Benedictine (Ill.) University at 2 p.m. CST/3 p.m. EST.
