BATTLE CREEK, Mich. – The Olivet College men's golf team finished in 11th-place at the 2016 Lou Collins Memorial Tournament, played at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- After shooting a 331 in Friday's first round, the Comets lowered their team score by 11 strokes for a 651 two-round total.
- Hope College won the team championship with a two-round total of 575 strokes, including a 284 in today's second round. Madonna University was second at 586, followed by Kalamazoo College, 590; Calvin College, 594; and Wheaton (Ill.) College, 606.
- Andrew Goble was the tournament medalist with a 137. He shot a six-under par 66 in today's round.
FOR THE COMETS
- Senior Matt Sherry and junior Tanor Blowers had identical scores in today's round as they did on Friday with a 78 and 80, respectively. Sherry's 156 total placed him in a tie for 35th in the player standings, while Blowers' 160 shared 46th-place.
- Freshman Logan Stefanko improved by 10 strokes from his first round score with a 78 to give him a two-day total of 166 strokes.
- Freshman Zach Sturgill had a two-round total of 172 strokes.
- Freshman Garret Tanner lowered his score by seven strokes with an 84 in today's round. His two-round total was 175 strokes.

- The Comets will begin Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association play next Saturday, Sept. 10. Trine is the host for the first jamboree at the Zollner Golf Course in Angola, Indiana.
