Gleadall has 71 to lead men’s golf team to a first-place finish at the MIAA Jamboree #2
Olivet College junior Brock Gleadall (Stratford, Ontario/St. Michael’s Catholic) earned medalist honors with a 71, as the Comet men’s golf team won the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Jamboree #2 today at the Bedford Valley Country Club in Battle Creek.

With the first-place finish, Olivet extends its lead in the 2007 MIAA seasonal standings to 10 strokes.
As a team, the Comets posted a 295 team score, which were eight strokes ahead of second-place Hope College. Rounding out the top five teams were Alma, 306; Tri-State, 314; and Albion, 318. In the MIAA seasonal standings, Olivet has 607 strokes, followed by Hope (617), Alma (629), Albion (638) and Tri-State (638).
In today's round, Gleadall had a 35 on the front nine and a 36 on the back nine. Junior Jacob Johnson (Ann Arbor/Pioneer) and Hope's Tommy Yamaoka tied for second-place in the player standings, as each returned to the club house with a 73. Junior Eric Ross (Burlington, Ontario/International) was next at 74. Senior Joe Kiss (East Leroy/Harper Creek) and junior Justin Lesansky (LaSalle, Ontario/International) shared a top-ten finish at 77 each.
The next league jamboree is Monday, Sept. 17, at Hope's home course, Wuskowhan Players Club, in West Olive. The day's action gets started at 1 p.m. with a shotgun start.
