Men’s golf team finishes in third-place at 2008 OWU Lamkin/Strimer Memorial Invitational

The Comets posted a two-day team total of 621 strokes. The host Battling Bishops took first-place at 603, followed by Wittenberg (Ohio) University at 617. The rest of the top five teams were Tri-State (Ind.) University in fourth at 630 and Denison (Ohio) University in fifth at 637.
Kiss had a 73 each day for a two-round total of 146 strokes to tie Ohio Wesleyan's Jordan Benner. Given the weather conditions for today's round, there was no playoff and co-medalists were declared.
After carding a 78 in Saturday's first round, junior Eric Ross (Burlington, Ontario/International) needed one less stroke today for a two-day total of 155 strokes and finish in a tie for ninth-place in the player standings. Junior Justin Lesansky (LaSalle, Ontario/International) had a two-day total of 161 strokes, followed by Senior Justin Gusczinski (Horton/Hanover-Horton) at 162. Junior Brock Gleadall (Stratford, Ontario/St. Michael's Catholic) completed the Olivet starting five with a 167.
The Comets return to the links next Saturday and Sunday, April 19-20 at the College of Wooster (Ohio)/Nye Intercollegiate at the Wooster Country Club.
