Men’s basketball team opens MIAA play with 79-61 win over Albion
Senior Jalen Adams posted a double-double with game-high 30 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Olivet College men’s basketball team to a 79-61 win over Albion College in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) opener tonight at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet.

OLIVET, Mich. – Senior Jalen Adams posted a double-double with game-high 30 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Olivet College men's basketball team to a 79-61 win over Albion College in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) opener tonight at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Comets raced to an 11-point lead, 17-6, in the first six minutes of the game. The Britons fought back and trimmed their deficit down to five points twice. After the last time at 25-20, Olivet closed the first half on a 17-2 run to lead 42-22 at the break.
- The Comets increased their lead to 22 points on two occasions early in the second half. The closest Albion was able to get was 14 points, 64-50, with 6:09 left in the game.
FOR THE COMETS
- Adams made 12-of-20 baskets, with three from behind the arc, and three free throws for his 30 points. Five of his 12 rebounds were off the offensive glass.
- Junior Tracy Edmond was next with 22 points to go along with a game-high eight assists.
- Junior Eldridge Mason finished with 12 points.
- Junior John McAdoo made five steals.
FOR THE BRITONS
- Corey Wheeler led Albion with 28 points.
- Ryan Lowe notched 12 points.
