Men’s basketball team comes from behind to nip Adrian, 61-59, in MIAA-opener
The Olivet College men’s basketball team erased an 11-point deficit in the second half to nip Adrian College, 61-59, in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) opener tonight at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet.

OLIVET, Mich. – The Olivet College men's basketball team erased an 11-point deficit in the second half to nip Adrian College, 61-59, in its Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) opener tonight at The Cutler Event Center in Olivet.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the first half, the Bulldogs led by 10 points twice, with the last time being 29-19 at the 2:57 mark.
- Back-to-back three-pointers by seniors Chris Chrzan and Eric Ewing made the score 29-25.
- Adrian closed the half on a 7-2 run to lead by nine points, 36-27, at halftime.
- The Bulldogs extended their lead to the 11-point margin, 49-38, with 12:06 left in the game.
- A layup by Ewing followed by three-pointers by Ewing and sophomore Thomas Tsalkitzis cut the deficit to three points, 49-46.
- Adrian continued to lead until the Comets took their first lead at the 5:20 mark when Ewing nailed a three-pointer to make the score 55-54.
- The teams traded points before a three-pointer by junior Jordan Terry put Olivet ahead 59-57.
- The Bulldogs leveled the score at 59-59 with 2:38 remaining.
- There was no scoring until senior Kevin Woodson split two tosses from the free throw line with 1:03 left to make the score 60-59.
- On its ensuing time with the ball, Adrian committed an offensive charging foul.
- The Bulldogs were forced to foul, and Terry made one of two free throws to make the score 61-59 with 16.2 ticks remaining.
- Adrian brought the ball into the frontcourt and called a timeout with 8.1 seconds left. An off-balanced three-pointer at the buzzer was off the mark.
FOR THE COMETS
- Ewing finished with a game-high 28 points.
- Senior Aaron Washington joined him in double figures with 10.
- Four different players each grabbed four rebounds.
FOR THE BULLDOGS
- Davonte Harris led the way with 27 points.
- Justin Webster had 12 points to go along with a game-high eight rebounds.
