PITTSFORD, N.Y. – The Olivet College football team started its 2016 campaign with a 52-10 loss to St. John Fisher (N.Y.) College at Growney Stadium in Pittsford, New York.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cardinals scored a touchdown on its first four drives to take a 26-0 halftime lead.
- St. John Fisher took the second-half kickoff and used a seven-play drive to go ahead 33-0.
- Olivet got on the scoreboard for the first time with 7:31 left in the third quarter when senior quarterback Braden Black completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to senior Mitchell Bailey. Junior Gunnar Aper made the PAT kick.
- The Cardinals answered with a scoring drive to extend their lead to 40-7.
- Freshman Doug Pollard kicked a 38-yard field goal to make the score 40-10 with 14:01 left in the fourth quarter.
- St. John Fisher scored the final 12 points of the game.
FOR THE COMETS
- Olivet totaled 268 yards of offense – 213 through the air on 55 on the ground.
- Senior Damorria Lilly topped the ground game with eight rushes for 16 yards.
- Black completed 19-of-31 passes for 213 yards.
- Bailey caught a team-best eight passes for 101 yards. Junior Kornelius Saxton had four catches for 61 yards.
- Junior Tyler Douglas led the defense with nine tackles, including two for minus 12 yards.
- Seniors Robert Cuba and Justin Madar finished with seven and six tackles, respectively.
FOR THE CARDINALS
- St. John Fisher rolled up 500 yards of offense – 211 passing and 289 rushing.
- James Chambers rushed for 92 yards on 10 carries, while Tony Fusco had 18 carries for 89 yards.
- Matt Naton was 11-of-16 for 205 yards and four touchdowns.
- Mike Collichio had five receptions for 89 yards.
BEYOND THE BOX SCORE
- Today's game was the first-ever between St. John Fisher and Olivet on the gridiron. In addition, it was the first time in school history the Comets have played a school from New York.
- Pollard's field goal made was the first by an Olivet kicker since Oct. 18, 2014.
