Olivet College’s Lilly and Bryson earn MIAA Player of the Week honors
Olivet College junior running back Damorria Lilly and senior wide receiver Kyle Bryson have earned Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Players of the Week for football. Lilly is the Offensive Player of the Week, while Bryson is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
FREELAND, Mich. – Olivet College junior running back Damorria Lilly and senior wide receiver Kyle Bryson have earned Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Players of the Week for football. Lilly is the Offensive Player of the Week, while Bryson is the Special Teams Player of the Week.
Lilly had 39 carries for 215 yards and four touchdowns in Olivet's 47-29 win Nov. 14 at Alma College. His touchdown runs covered one, one, six and 22 yards. Three of the four scores helped the Comets build a 26-7 halftime lead.
Bryson blocked a Scot punt early in the second quarter to give the Olivet offense a short field and increase its lead. It was his third blocked punt and the team's 11th blocked kick this season. Bryson also had a 10-yard reception and returned a punt nine yards.
The Comets finished the season with a 9-1 overall record and shared the MIAA championship with a 5-1 record. The nine wins are the most in school history for a season.
