GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – The Olivet College baseball team was swept by Calvin College in a Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) twinbill from Calvin College, 4-0 and 17-10, today in Grand Rapids.

HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME ONE)
- The Knights scored an unearned run in the first inning before adding two more runs in the second inning and one run in the fourth inning for the only runs of the game.
FOR THE COMETS
- Junior Aiden Holliday had the lone hit for Olivet, a sharply hit single into left field to lead off the second inning.
- Senior Brady Johnson went the distance on the mound to be charged with the loss. He gave up four runs (three earned) on nine hits.
FOR THE KNIGHTS
- Calvin totaled nine hits, including two for Logan Marshall.
- Mike Kempton drove in a pair of runs.
- Jonathan Keane tossed the complete game, one-hit shutout. He struck out nine and did not walk a batter.
HOW IT HAPPENED (GAME TWO)
- The Knights pushed across two runs in the first, four runs in the second, two runs in both fifth and sixth, and one run in the sixth inning to build an 11-0 lead.
- Olivet mounted a comeback with a four-run seventh and five-run eighth to cut its deficit down to two, 11-9.
- Calvin answered with six runs in the home half of the eighth to break the game back open, 17-9.
- The Comets added a run in the ninth for the final 17-10 score.
FOR THE COMETS
- Holliday finished the game with three hits, two runs and three RBI.
- Junior Nick Jones, sophomore Bronson Warren and freshman Matt Rehfeldt each had two hits and two RBI.
- Junior Connor Murney walked twice in five plate appearances and scored both times.
- Freshman Huston Snyder made his first collegiate start on the mound and lasted only one inning. He surrendered six runs (five earned) on four hits.
- Five relievers finished the game on the mound.
FOR THE KNIGHTS
- Kempton batted 5-for-5.
- Kyle Houts collected three hits, three runs scored and two RBI.
- Five other players had two hits apiece.
- Keane notched a team-best four RBI.
- Clay Francisco picked-up the pitching win after throwing 5.1 innings, and giving up two runs on two hits.
- Trevor VanDuyn got the final out in the eighth and all three outs in the ninth to earn the save.

- Olivet concludes its season next week with a four-game series against Alma College. The first doubleheader will be played at Olivet on Friday afternoon, starting at 2 p.m.
