Olivet College’s Hodges named MIAA Position Player of the Week
Olivet College senior Ryan Hodges (Swartz Creek) has been named the Michigan Intercollegiate Athletic Association (MIAA) Position Player of the Week.
Hodges posted a .533 batting average (8-for-15) in a four-game MIAA series against Calvin College. In addition, he scored six runs, drove in five runs and stole three bases. Olivet's leadoff batter, Hodges had four doubles for a .867 slugging percentage. In league play, he currently sits third with 26 runs scored and fifth with a .421 batting average.
For the season, Hodges has a .342 batting average (41-for-120). He has recorded a team-high 34 runs scored, nine stolen bases and .455 on-base percentage.
Olivet (19-16, 15-9 MIAA) plays a non-conference, nine-inning game tomorrow at Oakland University at 3 p.m. The Comets will then wrap-up their season with a series against MIAA leader Adrian College. The teams will play a doubleheader at Adrian's Nicolay Field Friday at 2 p.m., and a doubleheader in Olivet Saturday at 1 p.m.
