The Dean Trailways Female Comet of the Week is senior Konnor Geiger, of Clarksville, and graduate of Lakewood High School. Geiger posted a .571 batting average in helping the softball team win its first four games at The Spring Games in Leesburg, Florida. In her first game, she blasted a pinch-hit, two-run home run in a 7-3 win against Simpson (Iowa) College. Geiger then had three hits, including a home run, and drove in four runs in a 16-5 victory over Lancaster Bible (Pa.) College. She had two more hits, with a home run, and three RBI in an 11-7 win against Mount St. Joseph (Ohio) University. Geiger finished the week with two hits in a 13-8 victory over Stevenson (Md.) University. For the four games, she had eight hits, scored six runs, drove in 10 runs and had a 1.214 slugging percentage. Geiger’s three home runs gives her nine career homers to move into a tie for fourth all-time at Olivet. The 10 RBI already exceeds her total for the entire 2017 season.
