You began your basketball career at Olivet as the captain of the
intramural team in 1948-49. Later, your team played intercollegiate
games with other women’s teams from the Midwest. In addition
to being the captain, you were also the team’s leading
scorer.
At the end of the 1949-50 season, you attended an awards ceremony
in the Dole Hall Dining Room where you were presented a varsity
letter. As a result, you became the first female to earn a varsity
letter in a sport at Olivet.
After graduating from Olivet, you received a master’s degree
in education from Wayne State University. For 12 years, you taught
in the Lincoln Park School District. As a parent, you started a
program for gifted children in a local school.
Olivet honors you and is proud to induct you into the Olivet
College Athletic Hall of Fame on this 19th day of September,
2009.
